Focusing On The Lightweighting Market: Titanium Alloy Fasteners Empower The Upgrading Of Water Sports Equipment

Water sports equipment has long faced the dual challenges of high humidity, salt fog corrosion, and the need for weight reduction. Traditional steel fasteners are prone to rust and add weight, while aluminum alloy components lack sufficient strength, limiting performance improvements in high-end hydrofoils and surfing equipment. Recently, leveraging the advantages of Baoji's titanium industry and our company's many years of experience in producing titanium alloy fasteners, we have continued to provide customized GR5 titanium alloy fastener solutions for overseas water sports brands, helping hydrofoil equipment achieve lightweight upgrades.

The high salinity of seawater makes ordinary metal screws highly susceptible to corrosion when immersed for extended periods. Should a fastener fail, it would directly compromise water sports safety. We select GR5 titanium alloy as the base material, which inherently possesses excellent resistance to salt fog and seawater corrosion, eliminating concerns about rust or seizing due to prolonged exposure to moisture. For hydrofoil panel assembly applications, our products feature precision roll-formed threads with a high surface finish, ensuring they do not strip even after repeated assembly and disassembly. Head designs can be customized according to customer drawings, including countersunk, hex socket, and star-slot styles. Some models support a recessed design that conforms to the curved surfaces of the equipment, thereby reducing aerodynamic drag.

Hydrofoil panels are highly weight-sensitive; weight reduction in every component directly enhances the handling experience. Compared to steel bolts of the same specifications, TC4 titanium alloy fasteners can reduce weight by approximately 40% while maintaining sufficient tensile strength and fatigue resistance, enabling them to withstand continuous alternating loads during high-speed cruising. Surface treatment options are flexible, with natural finish, anodizing, sandblasting, and PVD vacuum coating all available upon request. Coating thickness is strictly controlled to prevent buildup in the threaded areas that could affect assembly precision.

From aligning with customer needs and producing prototypes to mass production, we have established a comprehensive custom development process. Once overseas customers provide equipment drawings or samples, our technical team quickly completes modeling, CNC machining, and sample testing. We offer short lead times for small-batch trials and guarantee stable quality and delivery times for large-volume production. Before each batch of products leaves the factory, it undergoes dimensional spot checks, material spectral verification, and salt spray durability testing. We can provide accompanying material certification documents to meet traceability requirements for exported products.

To date, several models of custom titanium screws have been delivered to overseas hydrofoil brands and have demonstrated stable performance through real-world testing at sea. A company representative noted that the market for lightweight water sports equipment holds immense potential. Moving forward, the company will continue to optimize titanium fastener manufacturing processes and iterate products tailored to various water sports equipment applications, providing reliable, lightweight fastening solutions for global sports equipment manufacturers.
